About

The Full Story

I have worked in education since 2010, with experience across classroom teaching, middle leadership, and senior school leadership.

I was appointed Deputy Principal in 2017, and Principal in 2020, and I am currently a serving principal. In these roles, my work has centred on leading staff teams, supporting professional practice, managing complex organisational issues, and working closely with boards and leadership teams through periods of change and accountability.

Alongside my school leadership role, I have worked as a tutor with Hibernia College, supporting and assessing student teachers as they trained to become qualified teachers. This has involved guiding trainees through coursework, reflective practice, and the practical application of teaching and learning, while maintaining high professional standards.

Across these roles, I have developed a particular interest in leadership transitions, especially the early years of appointment to senior positions. Having experienced these transitions firsthand, I understand the professional pressure, complexity, and isolation that can accompany senior leadership roles, particularly in contexts where governance, inspection, and reputation carry significant weight.

My advisory work is grounded in practical leadership experience and the day-to-day realities of leading schools, managing adults, navigating governance relationships, and making consequential decisions under uncertainty.
